When on the road, coffee is important! In fact it is not just important, it is the elixir of life!! But you DO NOT have to spend 4-5 dollars for a Starbucks! NO! A camp stove is all you need. It tastes just as good and you save a ton of money. You'll need every penny you can muster for your adventures! Yum!!
Weed, California is on the base of Mt. Shasta in the Siskiyou mountains. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!
Blog #4. Some pictures when we were driving and camping near Mt. Shasta, Ca. back in November1/1/2016 When you're on the road in a van, it's not exactly easy! This is a Picture of when we were driving through Oregon and stopped at a rest area to make something to eat. We just cook on the back of our little luggage rack. It works! It actually works really well. In a van, basically you are always camping! And hey everyone knows that "food always tastes better when you're camping!" Right? It really does! Something about the fresh air maybe? And here is STEALTH camp cooking in a parking lot!
...The travel vehicle! Nothing too fancy,
but a great "low mileage" runner. A 1979 E350 Ford Econoline Vemco V-drive 460 ci. 4x4 Enough power to get us anywhere. Not the greatest gas mileage, but about 10 mph the way I drive! (about 50 MPH!) This site officially started today, January 1, 2016. Our Journey actually began almost 2 months ago. We (that's me, I'm Jerry and my nephew Josh) took off from Puyallup, Washington and just headed south away from the rain! It's has, to say the least, been an exiting adventure. In future blogs, we'll post pictures of the first leg of the journey. We'll try to update the blog daily though sometimes it's hard when your traveling. We have to stop at McDonalds for internet! (or Starbucks, Dairy Queen or Burger King. If you know other free internet sites, please let us know. Do we have money for this trip? NO!!! But I've learned over the years that FIRST, you just HAVE TO DECIDE THAT YOU'RE GOING! And then you just go. And you figure it out on the way. If you try to calculate beforehand how you're going to do it, YOU'LL NEVER DO IT! So if you want to go, just go! This philosophy has always worked for me. So many people want to travel but they get stuck in the minutia of daily lives and they try to analyze HOW they are going to do it, and they NEVER do it, More on that in future blogs! Well, till the next blog... This is me By The Way. Doing what I love, play the Ukulele. More on that later |
